Dalam skema ini, OS tamu meyakini bahwa ia memiliki akses penuh dan eksklusif terhadap seluruh hardware fisik, padahal kenyataannya tidak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Full Virtualization menciptakan ilusi bahwa OS tamu berjalan langsung pada hardware fisik yang sebenarnya. OS tamu sama sekali tidak dimodifikasi dan sepenuhnya tidak menyadari bahwa ia berada di atas lapisan virtualisasi. Bagi OS tamu, semua sumber daya\u2014CPU, memori, perangkat I\/O\u2014terlihat seperti hardware fisik yang sebenarnya (disebut hardware emulasi).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Full Virtualization sering digambarkan sebagai metode plug-and-play virtualisasi. Jika suatu OS dapat berjalan pada hardware fisik, ia hampir pasti dapat berjalan dengan Full Virtualization tanpa perlu perubahan software sedikit pun. Inilah yang membuat <a href=\"https:\/\/nevacloud.com\/blog\/vmware-adalah\/\">VMware<\/a> (Hypervisor Tipe 1) dan VirtualBox (Hypervisor Tipe 2) sangat populer di kalangan pengguna yang ingin menjalankan OS proprietary seperti Windows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cara_Kerja_Full_Virtualization\"><\/span>Cara Kerja Full Virtualization<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Inti dari Full Virtualization adalah peran Hypervisor\u2014perangkat lunak yang bertindak sebagai mediator antara OS tamu dan hardware fisik. Ketika OS tamu mengeluarkan instruksi sensitif atau istimewa yang biasanya hanya bisa dilakukan oleh sistem operasi utama (host), instruksi tersebut akan menyebabkan trap atau interupsi. Hypervisor kemudian harus mencegat dan menganalisis instruksi tersebut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam metode tradisional, Hypervisor akan menggunakan teknik yang disebut Binary Translation. Ia akan menerjemahkan instruksi istimewa yang dikeluarkan OS tamu ke dalam instruksi yang aman dan dapat dieksekusi oleh CPU host. Proses penerjemahan biner secara real-time ini memastikan kompatibilitas tinggi. Hampir semua OS tamu standar (termasuk Windows) dapat digunakan tanpa perlu modifikasi kernel sama sekali, menjadikannya pilihan yang sangat fleksibel. Contoh Hypervisor yang menggunakan metode ini adalah VMware dan Oracle VirtualBox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Kelebihan_Full_Virtualization\"><\/span>Kelebihan Full Virtualization<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Kelebihan utama dari Full Virtualization terletak pada kompatibilitasnya yang tinggi. Karena OS tamu tidak perlu dimodifikasi, Anda dapat dengan mudah memindahkan mesin fisik ke lingkungan virtual tanpa perubahan software apa pun. Selain itu, ia menawarkan isolasi yang kuat antar VM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Kekurangan_Full_Virtualization\"><\/span>Kekurangan Full Virtualization<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Namun, kelemahan mendasar dari Full Virtualization adalah overhead kinerjanya yang signifikan. Proses penerjemahan biner yang terus-menerus memakan sumber daya CPU yang cukup besar. Untuk mengatasi masalah kinerja ini, teknologi modern kini hampir selalu mengandalkan Hardware-Assisted Virtualization (seperti Intel VT-x dan AMD-V), yang memungkinkan CPU membantu proses penerjemahan secara langsung, mengurangi overhead secara drastis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Apa_Itu_Paravirtualization\"><\/span>Apa Itu Paravirtualization<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Berbeda dengan Virtualisasi Penuh, Paravirtualization mengambil pendekatan yang sama sekali berbeda: ia mewajibkan sistem operasi tamu untuk menyadari bahwa ia di virtualisasi. Nama &#8220;Paravirtualization&#8221; sendiri menunjukkan bahwa virtualisasi dilakukan secara parsial, dengan keterlibatan OS tamu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Berbeda dengan Full Virtualization, Paravirtualization secara eksplisit memodifikasi OS tamu (kernel) agar OS tersebut menyadari bahwa ia berjalan di atas Hypervisor. Kesadaran ini memungkinkan OS tamu untuk berkomunikasi dengan Hypervisor secara langsung dan efisien, alih-alih mencoba mengakses hardware yang diyakininya ada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paravirtualization menghasilkan lingkungan virtual yang sangat cepat karena menghilangkan overhead penerjemahan (trap and emulate). OS tamu yang paling umum digunakan dalam Paravirtualization adalah distribusi <a href=\"https:\/\/nevacloud.com\/blog\/distro-linux\/\">Linux<\/a>, karena sifat open-source-nya memungkinkan modifikasi kernel yang diperlukan. Xen adalah contoh klasik dari Hypervisor yang mengandalkan Paravirtualization untuk kinerja optimal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cara_Kerja_Paravirtualization\"><\/span>Cara Kerja Paravirtualization<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam Paravirtualization, kernel OS tamu dimodifikasi secara eksplisit. Alih-alih mengeluarkan instruksi istimewa yang akan menyebabkan trap dan diterjemahkan oleh Hypervisor, OS tamu yang dimodifikasi mengeluarkan panggilan khusus yang disebut Hypercall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hypercall ini pada dasarnya adalah permintaan langsung kepada Hypervisor untuk melakukan operasi I\/O atau instruksi istimewa lainnya. Karena OS tamu sudah &#8220;tahu&#8221; bagaimana berbicara langsung dengan Hypervisor, proses mediasi menjadi jauh lebih efisien. Tidak ada lagi kebutuhan untuk Binary Translation yang memakan waktu. Contoh implementasi terkenal dari Paravirtualization adalah Xen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Kelebihan_Paravirtualization\"><\/span>Kelebihan Paravirtualization<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Keuntungan terbesar dari Paravirtualization adalah kinerjanya yang jauh lebih cepat dan mendekati kinerja native (tanpa virtualisasi). Penghapusan proses translasi biner berarti overhead CPU yang sangat rendah, memungkinkan lebih banyak VM berjalan pada satu host fisik. Ini menjadikannya ideal untuk lingkungan cloud atau hosting dengan kepadatan tinggi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Kekurangan_Paravirtualization\"><\/span>Kekurangan Paravirtualization<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sayangnya, kelemahan Paravirtualization sangat signifikan: ia membutuhkan modifikasi kernel OS tamu. Ini membatasi kompatibilitasnya. Umumnya, hanya sistem operasi open-source seperti Linux dan variannya yang dapat dengan mudah dimodifikasi untuk mendukung Hypercall.
